Art Classes and Saturday Workshops

I run weekly art classes for adults at Bents Green Church in S11 Sheffield. Please email me at celia@artbyceliabennett.com to enquire about dates and availability. My classes are about having fun and learning new techniques. It is great to just play and lose yourself in the act of creating. We now know that painting has huge health benefits. Recent research has shown that regular painting can decrease brain age significantly and improve cognitive function.

My adult classes are suitable for all levels – from experienced artists who just want to try out some different materials and techniques, right through to absolute beginners. I will give regular attention to each participant. You’ll soon find that you’re making new friends and lending support to your fellow students. I also do art demonstrations for Art Groups. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.

I teach the following classes, which are currently all full. However, I do have a waiting list, so if you’d like to go on the waiting list for a particular class, please let me know. Spaces do crop up every so often.

– Tuesday evening mixed media 6.30 till 9pm
– Wednesday morning mixed media 10am till 12.30
– Wednesday afternoon watercolour 12.45 till 3.15
– Wednesday evening mixed media 6.30 till 9pm
– Thursday morning watercolour 10 till 12.30

The cost is £20 per class, payable before the start of every term. Each class is 2.5 hours long. There is no refund or discount for missed classes. If you are unable to make a class, I email a step by step PDF document with photos, so that you can do the class at home in your own time.

 
What will we cover together?

Together we will cover a broad range of subjects using mainly acrylics and watercolours. You will need to bring a set of acrylic paints, a watercolour pocket set, watercolour and acrylic paper and some recommended brushes. A list of required materials is supplied when you make your initial enquiry.

My mission is to really encourage people, not just in their art, but also in their mindset regarding painting and drawing. I strive to help them to believe that they can do anything if they want to. I firmly believe that everyone can paint if they have a good teacher, who will show them some techniques and encourage them in their art journey.
